About me
Hello! My name is Rachel Reeb. I am a postdoctoral fellow at the Carnegie Museum of Natural History in Pittsburgh, PA, working as the lead program manager for the Invasive Species Awareness Campaign. I received my Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh in 2023, advised by Drs. Sara Kuebbing and Martin Turcotte. My research broadly seeks to understand the impacts of anthropogenic disturbance (namely, invasive species and climate change) on the long-term health of ecosystems. Over the last six years, I have developed a wide range of expertise in data analytics, statistics, and science communication.
Prior to graduate school, I earned my bachelors degree from the College of William and Mary in Virginia. During this time I performed research in community ecology, studying soil restoration strategies in forests and population biogeography of common milkweed (Asclepias syriaca) populations. When not in my office or the herbarium, I enjoy going on hikes with my dogs, Sprout and Loki, and exploring hiking trails near Pittsburgh.
